Dazed Digital and Channel 4 map out the golden era of Northern bassline during the 2000s, a new sound that evolved alongside new music genres dubstep and grime. Besides originating in the same era, the genres also shared a reputation that was associated with violence, anti-social behaviour and criminal activity during their rise.
